The Great Spirit in the sky is a lie

It shows what you could imagine would happen if there was a real Great Spirit - but how come the supernatural didn't help the native American Indians from the time the Europeans arrived up until now ? This chap is taking a leap over the probabilities if he expects faith in the supernatural to help pay his bills. How is it not imagined that the Great Spirit would give him the winning numbers to the national lottery or just miraculously credit his account, thereby turning the sheriff away peaceably ? Why didn't the Great Spirit give him the skills to get a higher paying job ? Maybe what happened here is that the house occupier tried to follow the parable of the 'shrewd' manager in Luke 16 and found out that if you cancel the debts of your master's customers without asking him he will not commend you but will more likely have you arrested for fraud and that will be a black mark on your reputation making it harder to get a new accounting position ?
